Where to begin! We absolutely loved every minute spent in Samara and the Treehouse was a perfect play to stay. We were greeted by Ben and given a full tour of the grounds. There is a ton of wildlife and amenities, not to mention, homemade donuts in the attached coffee shop. Just steps to the beach, restaurants and shopping - the location couldn’t have been better. We will recommend this spot to everyone and hope to be back ourselves!

We were over the moon about our stay at the treehouse! The cafe was so warm and welcoming and Ben was an outstanding host. Our little family of 4 felt super safe and at home at IONA and highly recommend! Thanks Ben! Looking forward to visiting again in our next trip to Costa Rica!

We had a great stay . The Casita was perfect for our family of 4. Great location, walkable to the beach & restaurants. Ben was super helpful and even had boogie boards for the kids to use. Iona Coffee roaster/cafe on site was an added bonus! Would highly recommend.

To say we had the most perfect stay is an understatement. It was beyond our wildest dreams! The casita is miraculously situated in the jungle, yet walking distance to every single amenity you could imagine. Every morning was stunning and we were greeted by animal calls, adventure and beauty! It felt too good to be true! The casita is incredibly sweet, perfect for our family of four to enjoy and relax. There were so many special details and it was immaculate while still feeling like our very own home away from home! Such a comfort after some very fun days in the sun! Now, for the part that truly made us say ‘wow,’ - our host, Ben, is the most amazing host ever! And truly one of the best people. His warmth and kindness was completely out of this world and won’t soon be forgotten. We left with tears in our eyes because we had met such a wonderful human and friend! This was truly the most memorable vacation with the most amazing Airbnb. We will be forever dreaming about our stay.

From the very first message until we left his lovely place, Ben went above and beyond to help and make sure our stay was comfortable. We felt so welcomed when we arrived. We're a family of five (4, 6 and 9 year old children) and we all absolutely loved Ben's welcoming and comfortable place - not just the spacious downstairs and upstairs set up which worked perfectly for us, but also the outside space to dry our beach gear and even kick a football about, and look at the books in the cafe next door. Ben was generous with his time and advice, kept us caffeinated (!) and even lent us boady boards and masks so the kids made even more memories. We enjoyed the location (which is on a busy main road), but the road noise was worth it as it meant popping to the shops, cafes, French bakery around the corner and beach was super easy. Sámara was a great stop, an we're so glad we stayed at Ben's place and we're genuinely touched by such kindness he showed to us. Thank you - we hope to be back soon!

Great location right at the edge of town with a shortcut to the beach down a dirt road. Also a safe courtyard with swings for kids to play overlooking the creek. There's even a little play set and nice size kid library at the adjacent cafe. Very high quality handmade furniture, you can tell the owners really take pride in the place. Ben was the nicest host ever, we made a very last minute one night booking and he let us stay the whole next day so we could experience the beach & the town before checking out in the afternoon (just in time for our toddlers nap;) and continuing on our drive further south. Sámara was a fun nightlife town, we definitely didn't regret the short stopover on our way to Montezuma.

We had a fantastic stay at IONA Villas during our first trip to Costa Rica. Ben and Erika were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. The villas were bright, clean, and comfortable. Our kids loved the outdoor space behind the property, especially the creek where they could play every day. The location is excellent—just steps away from the grocery store and the beach. Ben and Erika were also very generous with their time and shared great insight into the local community and culture. Any minor issues with the unit were dealt with promptly. The coffee at IONA Café was delicious, and the freshly baked donuts were a bonus. We highly recommend IONA Villas and would happily stay here again.

While we had some challenges that ultimately prevented us from staying at IONAS villas, Ben and Erika were both super helpful navigating them with us. Its times like this, when things dont go to plan, that a super host shines. Thank you both, catch you next time!

We had the most incredible time at the IONA Villa. Our family (my spouse, our 3-year-old son, and I) absolutely loved it! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and right at home. The villa is beautifully designed, spotless, and has such a peaceful, natural vibe that made our stay truly special. The outdoor space (front and back) was perfect for our little one to explore and play. Ben saw monkeys in the trees on the property and made sure we saw them too! The check-in was seamless, communication was quick and friendly, and everything in the listing was exactly as described, if not better! We especially enjoyed the location, just outside of the center of town, with a 5 min walk to the beach. This place is perfect for families or anyone looking to unwind and enjoy nature. We can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend!

This was such a great spot! My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and really enjoyed it. Ben and Erika were both extremely responsive and helpful. The villas are within walking distance to a ton of restaurants, coffee shops, stores, and the beach, but they still feel private and safe. There is also a small cafe on-site. We saw some iguanas, birds, and howler monkeys, which was fun. The furniture was really comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed, though we went out to eat for most meals. We especially appreciated the outdoor shower to rinse off after the beach. We would definitely stay here again!
