Just a four-minute walk from the glistening sands and serene waters of Samara beach, guests can fully embrace the Pura Vida lifestyle of Costa Rica when they stay with IONA Villas. The apartment is on the IONA Villas property, surrounded by a private walled garden that provides a tranquil retreat with a hammock and refreshing outdoor shower. Wake up to a delicious cup of coffee from our on-site roaster, Iona Coffee. Freshly roasted beans and a coffee maker are provided. Also included are a full kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, gas stove and full sink. Centrally located, Iona Villas and the Pura Vida apartment are just a short walk from the center of Samara with restaurants, supermarkets and activities just a few minutes away. While the apartment’s proximity to the main road is super convenient, there can be ambient road noise that may not make it the ideal choice for those seeking complete silence. While outside of the city center, it is not the countryside. This beach apartment is perfect for travelers who appreciate the ease of access to local amenities and the beach, while also enjoying the beauty of nature right at their doorstep. Guests have access to our cafe rancho and the natural tidal river that flows at the back of our property. This place is superbly located, within easy walking distance of most restaurants and the beach , and literally just two minutes from a huge supermarket. Despite being next to a busy street, it truly is a gem. I was initially a bit concerned about noise to expect at night, but the street quiets down completely, and it didn’t impact my sleep at all. Ben was an amazing host — very helpful and welcoming. A real highlight for us was being allowed to use the facilities of the small local community center on the same property. This was fantastic for the kids, who quickly met other children and enjoyed playing Lego and a variety of games. There’s also a lovely small children’s library that Ben and his co-host have set up for the local community. Staying here also means supporting a small community center for locals, which made the whole experience even more meaningful and pleasant. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this place to others.

We had an excellent stay at IONA Villas. Erica was a great host - available to answer questions and offered help when ever we needed it. The location in town was fantastic, close to grocery stores and the beach. We loved watching the monkeys in the trees, lizards and iguanas from the window.
